Nathan Manning is a lifelong resident of Lorain County and currently resides in North Ridgeville with his wife Jennifer. He graduated from North Ridgeville High School, received a B.A. in Political Science from Denison University, and earned a Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School. He is currently a prosecutor for the city of North Ridgeville and is a partner, with his sister Allison, at Manning & Manning Attorneys at Law. Nathan is involved in the community through organizations such as the North Ridgeville Chamber of Commerce, Lorain County Bar Association, Lorain County Historical Society, and as Vice President of the North Ridgeville Republican Club.
Nathan attributes much of his success and personal values to how he was raised by his parents, Jeff and Gayle Manning. The late Jeff Manning had his own law practice for nearly 30 years, was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 2000-2003, and became the Lorain County Prosecutor before his untimely death in 2004. Gayle Manning is a retired public school teacher who taught for 37 years and is currently serving in the Ohio Senate for the 13th District.
Nathan’s lifelong personal and professional investments in Lorain County are a testament to how much he cares about the 55th District. He wants to ensure it remains a place where people want to raise their families and can have prosperous careers. As a successful small business owner, he understands how to create an environment where business and economic opportunity can thrive. Nathan looks forward to meeting as many people as possible in the upcoming months, to hear their ideas and concerns, and help make Lorain County the best it can be.
As a small business owner, Nathan understands firsthand the challenges and risks that come with starting your own business. He also comes from a family of small business owners, giving him the knowledge and experience that we need at the Statehouse. Nathan knows how important small businesses are to our economy, as they account for nearly 65 percent of new private sector jobs. He plans to help create even more jobs by advocating for lower taxes, while fighting against unfunded mandates and regulations.
Nathan is proud to be the husband of a public school teacher, and is surrounded by both former and current teachers in his family. He understands the hard work and dedication that teachers and school administrators put into their profession on a daily basis. One of his top priorities is to improve Lorain County’s public schools to ensure that our children get the best education possible. Nathan will proudly support teachers and will fight to provide local schools with the resources needed to improve public education.
Nathan believes that Lorain County Community College and Lorain County Joint Vocational School are tremendous assets to our region, offering world-class job training and education. One of Nathan’s top priorities will be to work with educators to help prepare our workforce so that we can retain and attract new jobs to the district. Nathan believes job training can help make Lorain County one of the most attractive areas to many businesses and industries.
