
County Central Committee
ABOUT
- Lorain County is divided into 210 precincts.
- Each precinct has up to 1,400 registered voters. Map of precincts in Lorain County.
- Every four years on the Presidential Primary election ballot, voters have a chance to vote on who their central committee member will be if there is a candidate. When you go to vote during a Presidential Primary election, you can chose either a Democrat or Republican ballot.
- Each political party has a central committee.
- There can be one central committee member per precinct per political party. They can be elected as described above or they can be appointed if there is a vacancy.
- Many of the precincts have no member.
- As of April, 2025, there are 135 members on the Lor. Cty. Republican Central Committee and there are 75 precincts with no member, thus no representation to the county political party.
- Term: The term of the office is four (4) years. (April 4, 2024 to April, 2028)
- Every county in Ohio and across the United States has central committees.
- The 7 Area Committees of the Lorain County Republican Party are comprised of the central committee members elected and appointed in that geographical Area.
